This section is used to record communications about a participant with others. For example, staff can note that they talked to a parent about a student's homework completion, recording the date of the communication and how the message was communicated.
The system does not send or receive communications; the Communication Log section simply provides a place to record such communications through other methods (email, phone call, etc.).
Click the Peopletab in your lefthand navigation menu.
Open the List of Participants
Locate the participant in your List of Participants
There are several tools to navigate your list of participants.
You can type a whole or partial name into the search bar. The list will filter down as you type to match your search criteria.
You can scroll down the list to find the name. By default, 25 participant records will appear on one page. At the bottom right, use the menu to change how many participant records are displayed per page, and use the arrows to navigate through different sections.
Click the pencil icon to open the participant’s record.
Navigate to the Communication Logtab of the participant’s record. The table lists existing communication log records.
To add a new communication log record, click Add Communication +.
Fill out the date and time the communication was sent or received. Select the communication type and enter the name of the person contacted. Enter the subject and any notes about the communication.
In the Share section, choose if users at any site in the Institution/District can access the note or if only users associated with the site the student is enrolled in can access the note. Click the radio button to the left of the appropriate access setting.
To complete the communication log record, click Save Communication.
How to Edit or Delete a Communication Log Record
To edit an existing communication log record, click the pencil icon. Make the desired edits, and be sure to click Save Communication when you're done.
To delete a communication log record, click the trash can icon to the right of the record. Follow the prompts to confirm the deletion.
