How to Define Partners

Partners are organizations that work in partnership with the district to support students experiencing homelessness. Students can be referred to Partners through SST when the district cannot provide the needed services directly. Read this article to learn more about referrals.

To receive a referral through Student SupportTracker, Partners will need at least one SST user account created for them to access the student referral information. If you do not want to send referrals to Partners through Student SupportTracker (which requires the partner to log into the system to see the referral), you can still create Partners and record that a referral was sent to them in OSTT but send the actual referral in a different method (email, phone call, etc.).

Add A Partner

To define a new Partner, click Organizations in your left-hand navigation menu.
Click the Add Organization drop-down on the right and select Partner from the menu.

Fill out the form. Any field marked with a red asterisk is required. The form can only be submitted once all required information is complete. Click Next Step.

Select one or more Active Reporting Terms for this Partner. Click Save Partner.

Edit a Partner

To edit a Partner, search for the partner in the Organizations List by typing in part of the Partner's name. Click the pencil icon

Tip: to find all Partners, type "Partner" into the search filter.

Make any needed edits in the Partner Information or Active Reporting Terms sections. When you are done, click Save Partner.

If a Partner works with your program in the following year, you will need to edit the Partner and mark the new Reporting Term checkbox in order for them to appear in the referral section.

Remove a Partner

SST Remove PArtner.pngTo remove a partner, search for the Partner in the Organizations List. To the right of the Partner name, click the pencil icon. Then, click the red Remove Partner trash can icon at the bottom.

If a Partner has had referrals sent to them through SST, the Remove Partner trash can icon will be gray, indicating they cannot be deleted. If they are no longer a partner and should not receive referrals, the best way to prevent this is to remove access to the Users associated with this partner. Read this article to learn more about Editing Users.

Click Yes, Delete to confirm the removal of the partner record.
